Description:Ceratobasidium anceps (Bres. & Syd.) H.S. Jacks., Can. J. Res., Section C 27: 242, 1949.

Basidiome thin, effused, hymenophore hypochnoid, ochraceous. Hyphal system monomitic, hyphae with simple septa, 3-7 µm wide, hyaline, thin- to thick-walled. Basidia broadly clavate to ellipsoid, 12-15 x 8-10 µm, with 4-sterigmata, simple septate at the base. Basidiospores oblong to cylindrical (8-)10-12 x (4-)5-6 µm, smooth, thin-walled, IKI-, producing secondary spores by repetition.
Distribution in Europe: United Kingdom, Italy, Denmark, Sweden, and Netherlands. Rare species with presences in few European countries. It is the first Italian record, from Trentino Alto-Adige Region.
